About Benjamin Purnell

"m. Angelina Brown, 1877; 1 child; m. 2d, Mary Stollard, 1880. Became mem. Seventh Angelic Messengers, 1892, proclaimed himself the Seventh Messenger, 1895, expelled from Messengers; itinerant evangelist, 1895-1902; established House of David, Benton Harbor, Mich., declared himself Seventh Messenger and younger brother of Christ; preached that Millennium was to begin, 1906, forbade all sexual relations, even among the married; predicted that he would rise on 3d day after his death. Author: The Rolling Ball of Fire, 3 vols., 1915-25; The Little Book in the Hand of the Angel, 1927; The Key of the House of David, 1927. Death: Died Dec. 16, 1927."
