This is journal kept by Pvt John Humphrey while a member of the 117th New York State Volunteer Infantry Regiment (Fourth Oneida Regiment), Company B during the American Civil War.

John Humphrey, Jr. was born about 1842 in Marcy, Oneida county, New York, the son of John and Ann Humphrey. On July 22, 1862, at the age of 19, he volunteered for service with the U.S. Army at Utica, New York. View his Enlistment Form.
The 117th NYSV Infantry Regiment mustered in on February 18, 1862 in Oneida county, New York in which Hamilton College is located.
This journal was digitized by Backstage Library Works of Orem, Utah at 600 dpi, saved as uncompressed TIFF. They delivered to Hamilton College the TIFF images and JPEG derivatives.
