Elia Stephens Yovcheff was born in Hungary. He attened Hamilton College, class of 1877, and also lectured at the College on Hungarian culture. Mr. Yovcheff was a friend of Edward North, professor of classics at Hamilton College. These materials are part of the Edward North Papers (0000.164) in the Hamilton College Archives.
